KindWork Organizational Update

As of this month, KindWork is formalizing our collaboration with nonprofit Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI) through a strategic partnership. BWI is no stranger to KindWork; since our founding, the veteran workforce provider has lent their guidance as well as operational support, building a strong foundation for this transition. BWI and KindWork will operate in alignment moving forward, working towards a legal merger within the next year.

The decision to formalize this partnership with BWI came after careful consideration and is a result of strong mission alignment and a set of shared goals. Little will change with respect to our programming; KindWork will still serve the same young adults through the Customer Experience Fellowship, with a new cohort enrolling in September, 2022. With BWI’s support, KindWork will be able to increase in scale by over 35% in the near future, expanding our program’s impact.

We are very excited for this next chapter and look forward to the new milestones KindWork can achieve under the BWI umbrella. BWI is a workforce leader in NYC, serving more than 800 New Yorkers each year through seven different sector-focused training programs. Learn more about BWI here.

As a program of BWI, KindWork will retain the elements that make it special and effective: the founders and staff, our curriculum, and our comprehensive model of graduate career coaching. Simultaneously, KindWork will gain important administrative, fundraising, and operational support.

Together, BWI and KindWork will continue to build pathways to careers in tech for NYC’s historically underrepresented communities and increase diversity and representation in the sector.
